"The results of our research will soon be available on a digital platform (www.commoning.city). Our intention is that www.commoning.city will become an international mapping platform and open collaborative dataset for the urban commons and for cities that want to embrace a transition towards the commons paradigm. The goal of this research project is to enhance our collective knowledge about the various ways to govern urban commons, and the city itself as a commons, in different geographic, social and economic contexts. The case studies, both community-led and those that are institutionalized or “nested” in the local government, are important data points and empirical input into the larger effort to explicate the dynamic process (or transition) from a city where urban commons institutions are present to one where we see the emergence of networked urban commons." Course
"The Common(s) course is a beginning for what we hope will grow into a set of collective inquiries and experiences in commoning the city and exploring the potentials for withdrawing from the community of money."

Description
'It begins in the shape of a course or seminar, meeting each Monday early evening from 5:15 to 7:15 or so. It will be molecular in its organization, but there is a group composed of individuals involved with 16 Beaver, friends from CUNY, and other friends of the space including George Caffentzis, Silvia Federici, and David Harvey who will collectively care for this inquiry.
We also hope that what we are theorizing as a common(s) course is not only a context of learning but also becomes a space of friendship, collective inquiry, experiments, political activity and reclaiming a culture of the common(s)." (http://www.16beavergroup.org/common/)
