Michael Hartsell:

"Distributed solar is system of energy production at the point of use for meeting energy needs under changing weather conditions. In addition, a distributed system allows for energy production locally, rather than transport over distance, which increases efficiency. Distributed solar addresses the actual cycle of use of energy under specific weather conditions such as peak use during a sunny day or business hours; while on an overcast day, energy production from solar would decrease due to cloudy conditions, and at the same time, energy use would decrease as well, since the temperature would decrease."
