"the fifteen-inch Good Stove is an open source, Creative Commons technology for the common good. Intended for use by tribal dwellers in India’s deep forests, as well as poor, landless and small farmers, Good Stoves contribute to climate change mitigation, health improvements, biomass conservation, etc. Dr. Reddy has declared a “one million Good Stoves” mission to be achieved in partnership with various stakeholders within the next five years. Requiring low costs, high efficiency and diverse designs, the world needs at least 0.5 billion Good Stoves, in order to meet the social, environmental, economic and cultural aspirations of communities living in developing world."
