Cool Sam - i m also interested in

" embracing data visualization as a new medium "

in this mail I mention :

sharing related links through our http://del.icio.us accounts

I delicioused you some more interesting sites around the " visualizations as medium " topic

or you can find them on my http://del.icio.us/deliciousdante with tags such as http://del.icio.us/deliciousdante/ReferenceMaps , http://del.icio.us/deliciousdante/visualization , ...

interdisciplinary field between digital and non digital - ubiquitous spaces , design , ...

Another particularly interesting field of research and development ( in which some of you might already be engaged ? please feel free to forward us any links ) can be the mixture between

digital : knowledge , processes , any kind of relations- visualization at infinite levels of abstraction - tools for adding and modifying perspectives - for building and playing with relations of any kind , collaboratively , and with the capacity to network relation bases.

, mixed with

non-digital " so called real world " visualization and building.

It also includes understanding of " interactivity " in ubiquitous contexts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubiquitous_computing

- for example , a friend/acquaintance of mine based in Berlin ( Mirjam Struppek ) developed a list of projects which I understand as being related to " interactivity through digital mediums in public urban contexts " : http://www.interactionfield.de/ -

also feel like sharing some other recent project brainstorming of mine with non-digital blocks and relations integrating digital blocks at various levels of abstraction , in living spaces and open to open transformation : http://oikoumene.coforum.net/AbstractionBlocks

I also feel its interesting to add to such potential interdisciplinary field of research " lifestyles " - Psychology , Governance , etc - the evolution of peoples needs , eventually with a transition from desire to intention , from a paradigm of competition to collaboration , ... and then extend to processes , modes of trust information systems and currencies , and integrate the work of , you , Sam , and others we are cc ing to in this thread ( whoever reads this , let me know if you want further introductions to each other )

midst richest foundation on earth

I also feel like sharing the notice that midst the richest foundations on earth , there is

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stichting_INGKA_Foundation

" The stated purpose is To promote and support innovation in the field of architectural and interior design. "

It could also be nice to play with people related to lego ...

there seem to be some very interesting research projects involving lego

mass customization

It will also be interesting to see how " open dynamic data and relations visualization and building mediums " can then further facilitate any re-arrangment of any relations between meta data and processes ,

and open paths to further " Mass Customization "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_customization

and the further spread of local community runned and owned mass customization facilities under eventually cooperative ownership ?

And to relate all this to the initial topic of " funding " ...

back to finance : starting our own inter-foundation ?

I increasingly feel the need for a interdisciplinary source of grants , which eventually could be distributed by a inter-foundation platform which received money from foundations that have one specific stated purpuse , but are interested in promoting their stated purpuse in a interdisciplinary approach ( I guess such kind of platforms already exist , feel free to share info about this too if you know any )

We could also partner to create such a inter-disciplinary foundation , and then approach rich foundations with specific purpuses to fund the inter-disciplinary grant platform.

And then offcourse , I also do hope taht if we create such a inter-disciplinary platform foundation , that we would keep in mind the opt for collaborative , open and transparent forms of governance , and develop tools to allocate resources transparently , while also engaging anyone to micro sponsor or micro invest directly to a project , and even better , to specific individuals or networks of individuals who would have profiles about all their daily activities , with full transparency about all expenditures and resources needs , so that there can be instantaneous potential for feedback and options for choice and sense of participation by micro-funders , by project developers , and between project developers.

... building on a paradigm where every actor becomes a peer , and where there is ongoing potential for participation and inclusiveness , collaboration and customization.

Ok , just felt like bringing up some picture. Its a big map and everything is inter related.

Greetings

Dante

   Thanks, everyone!

I am quite interested in putting my shoulder into this effort as well. I would say also that at least some of the network of people connected to http://cooperationcommons.com should be offered to be included in this meta-network as well. There's lots of collected knowledge there about this subject.
I am especially interested in helping to enable to visualization of human/knowledge/value networks, and using technology to help leverage those networks for the communities involved.
