"E-Democracy.orgExternal link describes itself as "non-profit non-partisan organization" that "builds online public space in the heart of real democracy and community" and whose "mission is to harness the power of online tools to support participation in public life, strengthen communities, and build democracy". E-Democracy.org "host over 50 local Issues Forums in 17 communities across three countries - New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States".

It was initiated by a non-governmental organisation/charity and designers & developers and encourages people to participate through an online platform. E-Democracy.org is local in orientation and concerned with democracy, politics & representation, participation and neightbourhood & community.
