Author of Starving for Leadership, The Way of the Team and the yet to be released As Rome Burns, founded the Honos Foundation: fostering entrepreneurship and investment in conflict repressed communities and the Emerio Group: designing and developing signal processing solutions. The fifty-year journey to this work began when the author was quite young, arising from a deep need to understand the truth of why people engage with one another in the ways they do. E.M. has formally studied Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis at Norwich University, with emphasis on studies regarding the intersection of Special Operations and entrepreneurship in reduction of local and global threats. He is now preparing to return and complete his Doctoral work in Interdisciplinary Engineering, with emphasis on Computational Science and Engineering and Neuroscience. A Senior Research Fellow with the National Foundation for Integrative Medicine, in 2020 he launched the Jason Dawson and Stewart McGurk Brain Research Fellowship after his own diagnosis of traumatic brain injuries, injuries sustained, having returned to military service in the Army after a seventeen-year break in service, in his early forties, with service in 1st and 20th Special Forces groups. Prior to, he worked in investment banking, private equity and venture capital providing technology and tech venture analysis and assessment, after having been founder and co-founder of two Silicon Valley telecommunications technology startups, overall, with two decades in signal processing tech and systems design and development. With more than a few years just wandering in the wilderness of experience and discovery that is life, trying to find his way.
