Description

Alpha Lo in Open Collaboration:

"A sustainable garden network where people in a town grow their own food and then come together to share their food in garden potlucks is an example of an open collaboration project. It is a more non-hierarchical system of food production than traditional large agribusiness methods of centralized food production. It is open in the sense that everyone can join these garden networks. It is emergent in the sense that there is usually no centralized planning of who grows what. A sustainable garden network is non-owned. And it is participatory - people are in charge of their own food production and less dependent on larger agribusiness."
